The Colombo bourse welcomed the new year on a winning streak with surpassing the 16,000 figure and a turnover of LKR 12.9bn. ASPI gained 403.94 points (+2.53%) to close at 16,348.55 while The S&P SL20 index moved up 109.77 points (+2.66%) to close at 4,971.87.
