President Anura Kumara Dissanayake announced that personal vehicle imports will resume from 01 February 2025 under a structured program. Addressing Parliament, he stated the decision follows the phased reopening of vehicle imports, starting with buses and special service vehicles from 14 December 2024, and goods transport vehicles thereafter.
